So I had bought the LifePod 2.0 assuming that surely my Heckler & Koch USP 40 wouldn't fit inside of the, "small" let alone fit the gun with the magazine removed (required in California for transport unless you have a CCW) and a spare mag. I liked it well enough, it certainly fit the pistol and multiple mags comfortably. That resulted in my buying the smaller unit in case I carry one of my more compact pistols.Suffice to say after a bit of futzing and faffing about I was floored, I never needed the 2.0 in the first place and unless you're carrying a P226 or a 1911 or something you mightn't need the larger unit either. The thing is huge, the size of this one is MUCH more manageable. Anyhow enough chatter, the above picture shows a full sized USP and 3 mags, that's a total of 40 rounds worth of, "blows a lung right out of the body" moving clockwise from there you've got a Sig P226 Enhanced Elite with 2 mags, next up is a S&W M&P Shield with a single spare mag and it'd certainly hold 2 if you stood them on side and finally a Sig P938 Equinox with 2 mags and again you could get more mags in the thing if need be.While we're at it, this bag is the perfect size to carry the case, maybe a box of ammo and a few other items and it's cheap to boot.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y6949RT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsFor a $60 safe I would say it’s a great value. I only give 4 stars for durability because it is plastic so if someone wanted to break into it they would get in but its better than a handgun left unsecured in the car.I have a 3 year old and a 2 year old and now that they are getting good at climbing and opening things it’s not worth the possible risk to my children or anyone for that matter if it’s not locked up. This fits my needs perfectly. Small enough to be easy for travel and camping. Fits in a small bag and for me came with everything in the picture. Also nice to put my ID CPL and a debit card in when I don’t feel like having my whole wallet.That being said I purchased this for a Glock 19. It fits well with a spare mag I have extra foam in it so it fits snug but has plenty of room without the foam.I did order 2 more 4’ cables from their website for $15 each and have one in each vehicle. So I can have it locked and secured in the vehicle if someone was to break a window. Again if they wanted in it and have half a mind for how tools work they will get in. But it can prevent a quick B&E and keeps my curious children safe.I also purchased a $30 Apple AirTag and threw it into the case. It’s not exactly a GPS but I live in a city where lots and lots of people own Apple devices and it seems to get pinged pretty regularly and you can set up notifications on your phone. So if it was to grow legs I would have a window of time to track it and get location data to the police. Not the best option but much better than nothing.I like to be unbiased and accurate with any reviews I give. If it's crap, I say so. But when it's a very good product, people need to know so they can choose wisely. This is a very good product.Definitely get the safe WITH the Carry Pack. Super deal. The lifepod is very well made. Exactly what I wanted for travel. Simple to use, light, waterproof, compact and has key to backup any failure of the electronics. Comes with lock cable and the carry pack has an additional lock cable with a combo padlock. Carry pack has numerous zippered compartments and is designed well. Again, just makes sense to get the combo with the pack. Very pleased with the purchase.I was looking for a good travel case and my son told me about Vaultex. I got the case for Father’s Day and I’m very happy with this gift. Fits my Glock 19 as well as 3 clips. The key is in the vault. You connect your USB to the vault, press the lock symbol and punch in the code 1234, and boom, keys, cable were there. Once you place your 9 volt battery you can change the code. Simple. Great case for the money. Secure and tight. Plus I love the color.First bought to keep passports and cash during international travel, used the cable to lock it into my Eberlestock bag. It got me and my fiancé through our 18 day trip across Europe.Also works for flying with a handgun, it’s made 2 flights with my Smith and Wesson M&P Shield Plus inside. I now use it in my truck to lock up the same handgun while I’m at work. It’s been outside for the last 2 months with temps reaching over 100F everyday.Only complaint is that the number pad does not work when it’s hot, I have to put it in front of the AC vent in my truck to get it to read my pin.I used to use a 50 cal ammo box and lock when I went to places I need to lock a firearm up, this is way nicer and not as obvious. A full size handgun will not fit (think Beretta 92FS) but a small one (Sig Sauer P365) w/ an extra mag and room for pocket knife (Benchmade Mini-Barrage) fit with room left over.The cable lock is a nice touch, but given time and tools, this will not stop a determined thief. Keeping access away from small children though, it is perfect. Just make sure you practice your code and maybe email it to yourself in case you forget...I use this in the car when I can’t take my carry pistol in somewhere. It fits in my glove box and is secured by the cable to a metal part in the car. Yes, they can cut the cable with a good pair of cutters. But this is about deterrence not about absolute security.I use in car…i have locked to passenger chair…can side under out of sight and get access to easily to keep kids safe while keeping gun in car…love this…will buy moreDidn't like the space inside the safe. Not big enough for a handgun. Very slim and perfect for a night stand drawer.Very well built, and definitely worth what you pay for.Excellent product. No shipping issues.
